Welcome to Headway Building Services, LLC.

My name is Bruce Umstetter, the founder,

owner and operator of Headway Building Services, located in Wilmington, North Carolina. I provide

inspection services in Southeastern North Carolina.

 

As a locally owned and operated business, I personally perform each and every home inspection, and provide my clients with the utmost in personal attention. The personal and professional services I provide are not always possible with the larger national chains, or multiple inspector firms.

Qualifications

Licensed and fully insured member of The North Carolina Licensed Home Inspectors, with practical knowledge learned from hundreds of completed inspections.I have been in business since 1984.

Certified licensed General Contactor in the State of North Carolina, since 1991. This knowledge and experience allows me to also legally address certain structural and building issues.

Experienced Parsons-Brinkerhoff contractor and FEMA certified housing Inspector.

Community involvement: Member of the North Carolina Home Builders Association, Board of Directors of Wilmington Downtown, Home Owners Association Board member, Guardian Ad Litem volunteer, Associate of Byers Engineering.

I have built new houses, moved a couple, remodeled some old, and added on to some small ones. I personally own, rent, and lease approximately 25 properties. I know the needs of buying, selling, owning, and renting properties.

I am attentive to details, flexible in my scheduling and provide a "one stop source" for many aspects of the building and real estate industry.

I create easy to understand professional reports with color photos and an easy to read summary. The report can be delivered anywhere via fax, Email, or hard copy. Hey, I am also available on weekends.....CALL ME!

I have the background, training, and experience to accurately assess the condition of any home, and I possess the communication skills to clearly describe the inspection results. Through my knowledge, experience, and expertise, I provide my clients with the care and commitment they deserve. I am dedicated to providing timely and valuable information on the strengths and weaknesses of a home to help you make informed decisions.

Inmy work I represent only the client. I welcome client involvement and presence during the inspection and encourage questions and comments. The end product ofmy inspection is a clearly tabulated and detailed report that can cover up to 400 separate items and features.
